Ambiguous AI — a discussion exploring the evolving relationship between artificial intelligence and human creativity. Reflecting on Stephen Hawking’s 2017 prediction that AI might one day surpass human intelligence, the talk questioned whether AI truly exceeds human capability or remains fundamentally shaped by human intent — especially within artistic practice. The conversation examined how AI can be harnessed as a collaborator in creating artworks and exhibitions that challenge conventional imagination. Participants included Emilie Boe Bierlich, Project Researcher at SMK (absent due to illness); artist Arvida Byström; and Michael Connor, Co-Director of Rhizome. Moderated by Fatoş Üstek, independent curator and writer. Photo by Michael Kaack, Barsk Projects

Transcending the Human-Centric — a conversation between artist duo Rhoda Ting & Mikkel Bojesen and scientist Luke Holman from the Globe Institute, exploring their collaborative practice at the intersection of art, science, and technology. The discussion delved into speculative futures and considered how artistic practice can help us move affirmatively beyond the Anthropocene. Moderated by Kasper Opstrup, PhD, Copenhagen University — researcher and writer specializing in hybrids of art and literature, occultism, and radical politics as countercultural and underground phenomena.

Review/Revive: Neo Nordic Architecture — a conversation with the CHART 2024 Architecture Jury, examining the contemporary essence of New Nordic Architecture and reflecting on why its core principles—sustainability, integration with surroundings, functionality and simplicity, cultural context, human-centric design, and innovation—remain deeply relevant. The discussion asked: What defines Nordic architecture today, and how does the winning pavilion embody these values? Participants included Tyra Dokkedahl, Founder of Seriously Fun; Jonas Sarantaris, Winner of CHART Architecture 2024; Søren Phil, Founder of Philman Architects; and Jakob Brandtberg Knudsen, Dean of Architecture at the Royal Danish Academy.
